Make every bucket count.

The marks, color, type and voice of Rainge, the range companion for iPhone. Everything here is free to download. The rules are short, and they’re there so the brand looks the same wherever it turns up.

The Rainge signature: Rainge in script, its last stroke flying into a striped yellow range ball.
  • Partners and pressThe approved descriptions, how to write the name, and the co-branding lockup.
  • Merch makersWhich mark goes on a cap, a towel, a marker, a sticker and a tee, and how small it can go.
  • Design agentsThe whole guide as JSON and Markdown, with the files at fixed addresses.

The idea

The one ball every golfer shares, and the one golf ignores.

Rainge treats the most ignored object in golf as the most important one, because it is. That’s the whole brand: humble objects, treated with care.

  • Everyone’s first ball. Golf starts at the range: the first lesson, the first bucket, the first one that flies.
  • The great equalizer. Whatever is in your bag, you practice with the same striped yellow ball. A beginner and a scratch player hit the same one.
  • Ignored and discarded. It never goes on the course. The industry sells the ball you play on Saturday.
  • Essential. Every swing change happens on range balls, thousands of them.

What we believe

  • Improvement happens at the range, not on the course.
  • The work matters more than the gear.
  • Everyone who practices belongs, whatever their handicap or budget.
  • One clear thing to work on beats ten tips.
  • The grind deserves craft: humble objects, treated with care.

The lines

Two lines, each with one job. The ball is the full stop wherever a line is set large.

Tagline · the promise

Make every bucket count.

Rainge makes the balls you hit add up. Use it freely: the App Store, onboarding, the site, a shared clip’s end card, a pitch.

Sign-off · the idea under everything

Respect the range ball.

Use it with restraint: the last line of a story, a brief, a piece of merch. Never as a slogan stacked under the tagline.

Retired. Don’t use

  • Same ball. Different work.
  • Earn your stripes

The name

Rainge sounds like range, and reads like it. The range comes first.

  • RaingeIn sentences, headlines, buttons and on a home screen: a capital R, the rest lowercase.
  • The signatureThe only wordmark. When the name is a logo, it’s the drawn signature, never the name set in capitals.
  • Rainge GolfThe App Store name, because “Rainge” is taken there. Use it only to point people to the listing.
  • Rainge’sThe possessive. Never RainGe, Rain-ge, RAINGE in text, or a spelling with a space.

Marks

One signature, one ball.

The signature is the only wordmark. Its compact cut takes the small spaces, and the ball can stand on its own. Use the files as they are: they’re drawn, not typed.

The wide-capitals wordmark was retired in October 2026. The signature replaces it everywhere.

Clear space and size

The ball is the unit. Keep two ball-widths of empty ground around a mark, measured from the edge of the file. Nothing else goes in there: no text, no edge of the page, no other mark.

The ball

Yellow, three stripes, and nowhere else.

The striped range ball is the brand’s hero. It’s the landing of the signature’s flight, the full stop of every line we set large, and a mark on its own.

The ball: range-ball yellow with three short angled turf stripes.
The day ball: brass with turf stripes.

The full stop

Make every bucket count.

  • Yellow means “this one”. It’s for the ball and nothing else. No yellow headlines, buttons, borders or backgrounds beside it.
  • Three short angled stripes, as stamped on real range balls, with fixed proportions, angle and spacing. Use the files; never redraw them or turn them into long parallel stripes.
  • The stripes stand for practice: the reps, and the fixes that held. Never use them as a progress bar or a loading indicator.
  • Day: in the app’s daylight screens, the ball is brass, #B8901A, as a fill. The signature files keep range-ball yellow on cream.
  • On its own, the ball is the avatar, the ball marker and the favicon. It reads from 16 px.

Rules

  • The script is a drawing, never a font. Don’t set words in a script face.
  • Headlines in sentence case. Capitals are for short labels.
  • Use only the weights above, and never fake a bold or an italic.
  • The ball is the full stop of a large line; it doesn’t replace the period in body text.

Voice

The regular two bays down.

The one who has seen everything and still practices: honest, dry, generous, a little defiant toward gear culture. Practice, not analysis: the golfer should practice more and read less, so every line earns its place.

  • Honest.Says what the numbers show, including “too few swings to tell”.
  • Focused.One thing, full stop.
  • Respects the grind.Celebrates reps, not shortcuts.
  • Dry, not jokey.Wit comes from insider truth, never memes.
  • Crafted.Short, specific, plain words, with golf vocabulary used correctly.

Copy rules

  • It’s a range companion, not a swing analyzer. Say range, not course. Rainge is for practice.
  • Say “the coach”. Talk about the range and the work, never the technology behind it. No robot, sparkle or chat-bubble cues.
  • No names. Don’t name teachers or tour players, or borrow their methods.
  • American spelling: practice, color, equalizer.
  • One thing. End on one thing to try, not a list.
  • Not a gear brand. Don’t tell people what to buy, and don’t call Rainge a launch monitor, a swing analyzer or a replacement for a pro.
  • Not exclusive. The range is for everyone who practices, whatever their handicap or budget.

Imagery

One morning, at one range.

Every picture is the same range: before dawn under the machine’s light, or at first light with dew on the turf. The objects are humble and shot with care: a pyramid of striped balls, a wire bucket at the tee line, a worn ball in the grass.

A wire bucket filling at the range ball machine before dawn.

A wire bucket of striped range balls on the tee line at sunrise.
The next bucket, waiting at the tee line.
A worn striped range ball in the grass at first light.
A worn ball at first light: the hero, alone.
  • Real light: first light or floodlight. Dark grounds, with a light film grain; never glossy studio.
  • The range, not the course: mats, turf tees, buckets, distance boards. No fairway glamour shots or clubhouse lifestyle.
  • The work, not the gear: no product heroes of clubs or balls you’d buy. The range ball is the only star.
  • Real swings, real numbers. A read is the golfer’s own swing, with the overlays in their colors.
  • No cartoons. No illustrated balls or buckets, no robots, no sparkles.

Merch

Make the humble object precious.

Wearable first: every mark is judged on a cap front, a tee, a sticker and a 28 px avatar. Flat vector, one color if need be, and it stitches on a cap. No gradients, glows, halftones or textures.

Idea

Stripe editions

One, two, three. Small runs that mark real progress, with restraint.

Idea

Range-ball drops

Real range balls, the humble object itself, in small numbers.

Idea

Property of the range

Pieces that belong at the bay: towels, buckets, caps.

Which mark goes where

Each one drawn from the real files, at a size the rules below allow.

Cap frontThe compact stitch cut, 65 mm wide: cream thread and a yellow ball on a turf cap. Or the striped ball alone, 45 mm across.
PROPERTY OF THE RANGE
TowelThe signature in turf, 320 mm wide, on a cream towel with a turf band.
Ball markerThe ball, edge to edge, 25 mm across, enamel or print in a thin rim.
StickerThe signature in cream on turf, 100 mm wide, with a cream die-cut edge.
Tee chestThe compact signature in turf, 90 mm wide, printed on the left chest.

How small it can go

Worked out from the marks’ own geometry. The finest part of each mark has to clear the process’s smallest line: about 1 mm for stitching and 0.3 mm for print, the usual floors. Your maker’s may differ, so ask for a sew-out or a strike-off before a run.

MarkPrinted, fromStitched, fromWhat limits it
Signature95 mm wide305 mm wideThe ball’s stripes (the flight alone holds from 40 mm printed, 135 mm stitched)

Signature, compact stitch cut15 mm wide50 mm wideThe script; the ball is plain
The ball5 mm across16 mm acrossThe gap between stripes, 6.5% of the ball
  • The rule of thumb: the ball must be at least 16 mm across to stitch its stripes, and 5 mm to print them. If it would be smaller, use the stitch cut of the signature or of its compact cut (the same drawing with a plain ball), or the striped ball on its own, rather than thickening the stripes.
  • Color: match thread and ink to the hex values: turf #0D1A14, cream #F2E9D6, ball #F2D04B. We don’t publish Pantone or thread codes; approve a sample against the hex in daylight.
  • One color: use the black or white files, which cut the stripes out of the ball, and print or stitch them in turf, cream or the garment’s contrast color.
  • On a garment, the yellow ball is the only accent. No second yellow, no gradients, no distressing.

Short description

Long description

Rainge is a range companion for iPhone. Prop your phone behind you at the range and hit: Rainge checks your swing against sound fundamentals at the positions that matter, gives you one focus for your next few balls, and tells you after every set whether you’re getting closer. Over time, it proves the change against your own swing. Rainge is named after the range ball, every golfer’s first ball and the one golf ignores. Learn more at rainge.app.

Co-branding: Rainge × Partner

The signature, a thin rule, then the partner’s mark. In text, write “Rainge × Partner”, with the multiplication sign.

  • Order: Rainge first, on the left, unless the partner is the host and the layout reads right to left.
  • The rule: one thin line in the signature’s color, as tall as the signature’s R, with two ball-widths of space on each side.
  • Size: the partner’s mark is no taller than the signature’s R, and no more than about as wide as the signature. Neither mark dominates.
  • Ground: both marks on the same plain ground, each in its own colors. Don’t recolor either to match the other.
  • Small spaces: under 240 px wide, use the compact signature in the same arrangement.

Partners may

  • Use the marks from this page, unaltered, to refer to Rainge.
  • Quote the descriptions above as they are.
  • Use the lockup for something we’ve agreed to do together.

Partners must not

  • Alter, redraw, recolor, animate or combine the marks.
  • Imply that Rainge endorses, sponsors or recommends a product, a player or a service unless we’ve agreed it in writing.
  • Use the ball or its stripes in their own mark, or “Rainge” in a product, app or domain name.
  • Put Rainge marks on products for sale without a license from us.

About the product

llms.txt

What Rainge is and does, for anything you write about it.

  1. Use the files at their addresses. Never redraw, retype or trace a mark.
  2. The signature is the only wordmark. Use its compact cut in small spaces, and the ball alone where even that won’t fit.
  3. Design for night first: turf ground, cream ink, and yellow for the ball only.
  4. Set type in Barlow Semi Condensed and Barlow Condensed, text in the system face.
  5. Before you hand back, check the copy: Rainge with a capital R, “range” not “course”, “the coach”, no player names, American spelling, no retired lines.
